RE: low water pressure! guess what it was!!!

Low water volumn can be caused by those cheapo pressure regulators that really don't do much overall. Look inside one and see the small orfice. Great pressure little volumn. JMO

RE: Shore water stopped, pump works fine. Hmmmm????

Same thing happened to me. The fitting where the hose attaches to the trailer has a cheapo plastic backflow preventer. Cost me 21 bucks for a new inlet connection then looked at the old one. A little plastic thingy had come off and the piston closed the inlet. One minute of my time to re attach the darn thing. Now I have a spare. Took ten minutes to change out the attachment. Good luck. The backfolow preventer is there for stopping water from running out the hosse attachment when using on board water pump.

RE: Clogged Septic in Snowbird 5th wheel

What works for me is every three dumps I use a rinser from any rv store which has a spinning jet (brass) on the bottom. My installed rinser clogged years ago. The flexable hose and spinner goes down my two angle drain with no problem. Once you get the starter hole going just work the spinner jet up and down the drain to cut all the kaka off. It will also clean your tank sensors. Been full timers in a 35 for ten years so have learned a great deal about the woes of and RV life style. Wouldn't change for the world. Good luck and keep some old towel handy till all gets cleaned.

RE: Table top Convection Oven

Been using our turbo convection for years. Best pies in the area. We have 30 amp and just treat the oven like the micro. Limit AC when using. Other than that go for it.

RE: Leaning slightly to the left :)

Many replies on the way. Use those orange blocks that come in a bag or get some 2X6 planks cut to about 18 inches and build a small pyramid and pull one wheel on the low side up on them. May have to block up both wheels at times. We are parked for a year on three plastic stacked blocks to make level. Once trailer is level use a block if necessary on your landing legs to make them even. Should be able to just use diffent holes in the legs for this. Hope this helps.

RE: Sealand Toilet

We found out that a quick lift on the pedal after flushing will seal the water in. Only took me ten years to figure it out.

RE: Pennsylvania Trip

After 10 years of full timing I have found that the policy of most campgrounds is to charge you for the resevation if you don't cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Just like most major hotels. We only make rerervations in advance if we are going to be a month or more in one place. We usually call the same day we are going to arrive. Reservations and RVing can be tough as we all know RVs have a mind of their own.

RE: waste holding tank

Our 5r is 10 years old and all I do is use the flexable rinser with the spinning nozzle down the toilet. My sensors go from light blue to black in no time. My factory installed rinser plugged up years ago (my fault debris in hose}. Anyway the rinser works for me and we have the crooked drain from the potty too.

RE: Jaw or straight bar

IMO I like the locking bar feature for ease of mind.

RE: Awning Tie Down

If you are in Texas don't go to the store if there is a chance of a storm as when you get home your awning will be next door no matter what anchors you have. Lost three awnings in the park this week with just a threat of a storm. The shade is nice but be weary.

RE: Help Needed PLease

If you do take the toilet off be sure to tighten the stainless steel band to the max when re-installing. I made that mistake before and couldn't figure out the water source in the basement for awhile as everything is hidden once you put the shroud back on.

RE: Holding tank sprayer?

Get the long flexable flusher from a camping store or WalMart. Make sure it has the brass spinner on the end. I use mine once a month as the installed sprayer finally plugged up from stuff in the hose (my fault). The wand cleans the sensors so there is no reading on the monitor so I know it is doing a good job. In tank sprayers are nice but a $15.00 wand is just as good or better. JMO

RE: Help Needed PLease

Try using some Lime-Away. I just pour some in and let it set and hour or so and it will disolve the scale. Just did it yesterday.

RE: Slide out motor stops

This happens all the time on our big slide. It is a relay that keeps from overloading the motor. It is designed to work just that way for your protection of the system. Just don't panic and when the slide stops just wait the twenty seconds or so and then continue. It sometimes takes four of five stops before the slide seals completly. Think of what would happen to the motor if you kept the power to it after the slide was in. It is a built in safety thing. You can find the relays (little silver boxes) right by your 12 volt distribution box. After loosing one in Yellowstone I carry two extra of the right voltage. If the relay wasn't there you would blow a fuse then you have to have some extra of those too. Which you should have anyway.

RE: Planning a modication to our slide outs

I cut the pipe insulation in half and put it in where there is a gap. It is usually along the top of the big slide as they sag over time. Big thing is to try and remember to remove the insulation before you pull the slides in all the way. I don't pull off the tape. Works for me.

RE: Black water tank frozen

I would worry about that huge block of ice banging on the sides of the tank. I would let it thaw completly before traveling.

RE: water filter

I installed an EverPure on the cold water side of the kitchen faucet. The filters are a bit pricey but last well over six mths and do a perfect job. Who needs to filter toilet flush water? JMO

RE: Adding a second air conditoner

Just put in a 13.5 in bedroom. We only have 30 amp. but the new one cools the whole 35 feet in the milder temps. It is on the microwave switch so it is one or the other so we don't blow the fuse. Of course we can't run both ACs at once but it sure is better then the fantastic we had. Put the fantastic in the bathroom. Did all work myself and it was a piece of cake after removing the sticky stuff. Biggest problem was getting the new AC on the roof but we (2) just slid it up a folding ladder using pull with rope and push from bottom. Good luck and enjoy. Be safe out there.

RE: Leak Repair Question...Would you settle for this

You forgot to mention how long you have had the RV. If it is under warrenty then get the window seal replaced. Otherwise the silicone fix is Ok unless you want to spend big bucks to have the window seal replaced. It is a bummer anyway as you probably don't know just how much damage is done to floor and rugs yet.
